Ronald H. Shaljian (Ron) grew up in Bergen County and has spent nearly sixty years in Jersey City. In 1970, he joined the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office where he met his wife, Catherine. After leaving the Prosecutor’s office, he founded the law firm of Shaljian, Cammarata and O’Connor. The firm was subsequently joined by Hon. Carmen Messano, and later by Eugene Boffa, Jr.
 
As a member of Schumann Hanlon Margulies, Ron specializes in land use and high value real estate transactions. His expertise is sought out by major developers in Hudson County and other areas of New Jersey. He has written articles on land use and permitting and has been responsible for many of the beautiful projects that adorn the Jersey City Waterfront.
 

With more than fifty years in the field including two decades serving as General Council to the Jersey City Housing Authority, Ron offers clients an unparalelled level of expertise. His experience has led to the firm representing major developers and projects such as The Beacon, Lefrak Companies, K. Hovnanian, and Goldman Sachs. 

Ron has a strong belief in philanthropy. He has served his parish in various volunteer positions since the 1980s, and is also a staunch advocate for persons with disabilities. Ron began volunteering with Hudson Community Enterprises (formerly the Occupational Center of Hudson County) in 1973, and now serves as its Chairman of the Board. As Chairman, he promotes the development of the various businesses HCE has created to become less dependent on government subsidies and more dependent on private enterprises. He is committed to making a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities by providing them with training and job opportunities. Because of this work, Ron has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Community Service Award from ACCSES NJ and a 2025 Hudson County Champion Award.

In his spare time, Ron enjoys golfing and traveling with his family.
