Development and Construction
Many of the areas and the nation’s preeminent developers have hired us to ensure that their projects are successful. Our services include the structuring and negotiating of construction and development agreements involving office, residential, mixed-use properties. We have longstanding relationships with all of the regulatory bodies and agencies at all levels of government with whom developers must interact. Schumann Hanlon brings a unique insight into the practices of the construction industry and offers legal services to developers, owners and others involved in all aspects of same. We have served as general or special counsel on related matters for clients ranging from start-up entrepreneurial enterprises to established, publicly listed corporations and numerous public entities. For our clients, our attorneys have drafted and negotiated major construction agreements among and between architects, construction managers, owners and contractors; multi-prime agreements; claim resolutions; change orders; access agreements. We have also represented clients in construction related litigation, arbitration and mediation matters, including actions under the Construction Lien Law and the Municipal Mechanics' Lien Law, and cost recovery actions, including delay claims, extras and change order litigation/arbitration.
